Hounslow Environment and Climate Community Summit

15 October 2021

For nearly three decades the UN has been bringing together almost every country on earth for global climate summits – called COPs – which stands for ‘Conference of the Parties’. In that time, climate change has gone from being a fringe issue to a global priority, and this year will be the 26th annual summit – giving it the name COP26. With the UK as President, COP26 takes place in Glasgow from Sunday 31st October to Thursday 12th November 2021.

The London Borough of Hounslow declared a climate emergency in June 2019 and adopted our Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP) in July 2020 which sets out our ambitious target to be net zero as an organisation by 2030, whilst influencing a wider borough reduction in carbon emissions. The delivery of our Green Recovery Strategy will accelerate the work needed to achieve our net zero target.

As part of COP26 activity in Hounslow, we would like to invite you to the Hounslow Environment and Climate Community Summit on Friday 5th November at Hounslow House from 12:30pm – 4pm. This will be an open afternoon where we will raise awareness of the work underway to meet our climate emergency declaration and to accelerate a green recovery as we recover from the pandemic as well as inspire, engage and encourage community action.

You can sign up via EventBrite here, and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
