Give your views on TfL's proposal to expand the ULEZ

26 May 2022

Hounslow Council is encouraging residents,  and those who work and travel through the borough, to give their views to TfL (Transport for London)  on their plans for an extended Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).

The Mayor of London has announced that Transport for London (TfL) is now consulting on plans to expand the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to cover the whole of London in 2023.  As with the existing ULEZ, vehicles which do not comply with emissions standards will pay a fee to enter the zone.

The aim is to tackle the issues of air pollution climate emergencies and traffic congestion, by reducing emissions from vehicles, by reducing the number of higher polluting vehicles that travel in the zone.

Hounslow, which mainly sits outside of the existing ULEZ, would be covered by the expanded zone if the plans are approved and its important that as many people give TfL their views as possible.

The consultation is open until 29 July, and if the changes are approved, they would take effect from August 2023.
