Half-term Bikeability Cycle Training
12 February 2020
Cycle Experience will be running Bikeability training over February half-term at Lampton Park.
Course 1: 19th - 20th Feb
Course 2: 20th - 21st Feb
The training develops children’s handling and control of the bike, boosts confidence and refines skills at their own pace. Riders will then be taken onto quiet roads and simple junctions, to develop rider’s skills and confidence on road, preparing them for cycling on more complex, busier roads.
Bikes and helmets can be provided for £5.
Level 1
For Level 1, riders must be able to cycle (i.e. pedal and glide) to participate. The course will prepare riders for cycling on the road in a safe, off-road environment and build confidence to pedal while looking behind, cycling one handed, turning and controlling speed.
Level 2
The Bikeability Level 2 course aims to develop riders’ skills and confidence for cycling on single-lane roads and simple junctions. Participants must demonstrate Bikeability Level 1 National Standard assessment criteria before they start Bikeability Level 2 training.
