Electric Bike Trial for Hounslow

Last month WestTrans launched an electric bike trial with Hounslow Council!
Alongside the Council's current pool of hire bikes, staff will use two new electric bikes for site visits, commuting, and for other work-related journeys across the borough. The bikes are fitted with GPS units which will anonymously record journey data.
The trial will run until June 2019, after which, WestTrans will analyse the GPS data to discover what role can e-bikes play in the shift to active travel, and what journeys do people use them for.
WestTrans funded the two e-bikes, locks, lights and luggage racks, whilst Hounslow Council provided helmets and secure cycle parking.
