Climate & Clean Air Community Reference Group

Join the Climate and Clean Air Community Reference Group

We believe that the community are at the heart of delivering a cleaner and greener Hounslow and a large number of people have expressed a strong desire to be involved in working with the Council to improve the borough’s air quality and reducing the council’s and the wider borough carbon footprint. This will in part, be achieved by implementing the Hounslow Air Quality Action Plan (adopted in October 2018) and the draft Climate Emergency Action Plan. As part of the governance arrangements for the draft Climate Emergency Action Plan, the council will be setting up the Climate and Clean Air Community Reference Group (CRG).

The remit of the Climate and Clean Air CRG will be to encompass the monitoring and implementation of the CEAP and AQAP. The CRG will work with internal council officer led Board to co-create and prioritise actions, as well as assist in increasing transparency and public understanding around the council’s opportunities and constraints for action. The Group will assist the council in galvanising the required wider civic support necessary to deliver the ambitious changes required to respond to the declaration of an emergency.

If you are interested in being part of the Climate and Clean Air CRG, please view the draft Terms of Reference for the group and submit an expression of interest form via this link to Citizen Space. The deadline for submissions is Sunday 9th February 2020. If you are successful, you will be notified by Friday 14th February 2020 and the first meeting of the group will take place on Thursday 27th February 2020.
