Walking as Exercise

Lots of people are put off exercise because they don’t think they’re fit enough to take part, but walking is a low impact exercise accessible to almost everyone. Starting with small local walks and building up over time, walking can really help get people into more active lifestyles. Walking is really easy to fit into day to day life, whether by exchanging a car, bus or tube journey for walking, going for a stroll at lunchtimes, or joining one of our social walks.
